Panel Specialist and Pre-Authorisation Approval

Insurers for Integrated Shield Plans have come out with plan types that are more cost effective by encouraging policyholders to visit Government/Restructured Hospitals, or with their Panel Specialists. Some of the insurers also provides Pre-Authorisation so you can have better peace of mind before your planned treatment. Do note that Pre-Authorisation is only for scheduled surgeries or hospitalisation treatment, and has to be sent in 3 to 10 working days before the admission date.

Is Pre-Authorisation Available?

Yes, Pre-Authorisation is available for admission or surgery at government/restructured, and private panel specialist clinics/hospitals.

How to get the Pre-Authorisation?

1. At the panel specialist clinic, you can ask the panel specialist to assist you in requesting for the pre-approval of your medical expenses.

2. For government/restructured hospitals, email to Pre-Authorisation@healthconnect.com.sg with the following documents.

– Duly signed and completed Pre-Authorisation Request Form (Click here to download form)

– Care Cost Form

– Admission Authorisation Form / Day Surgery Authorisation Form

– Diagnosis Reports (if any)

GETTING PREPARED IN THE EVENT OF HOSPITALISATION

With Pre-Authorisation, you are not required to pay your bill, up to the Pre-Authorised amount, during admission and/or upon discharge,

However, Pre-Authorisation is only applicable for planned surgical or hospitalisation, prior to the admission and it takes at least 3 to 5 days for the approval. In the event of an urgent admission and you are not able to do a Pre-Authorisation, you may still be covered according to the terms and conditions of your policy contract and reimbursement will be made after discharge if the claim is approved.
